Quality
I shoot with medium format film, as I prefer to keep my workflow optimised for quality over quantity, instead of the other way around with digital machine gunner photographers, who then apply a 'trendy' lightroom action to all the images and dump the steaming pile to DVD and call it a day.
One of the benefits for people photography with film is that you avoid colour-crossover that you get with digital, with a portrait film you have dark, brown, white, olive, asian and you name it skin tones balanced correctly all in the one frame without compromising the other.
At the end of the day I can still provide mainstream output formats from shooting film - DVD slide show, albums, and prints, albeit with unirvalled detail and gorgeous tonality delivered by the magic of film combined with my creative expression and trained eye that doesn't rely upon editing and filters as a crutch and cover up.
Pricing
At the moment I charge $1600 for 3-5 hours of shooting, which covers film cost, processing, scanning, post-work, 6 x DVDs, 2 x 60cm long exhibition quality prints, 1 x 37x29cm 72 page wedding album book(bigger than A3!), and 2 x 20 x 15cm (~A5-) 32 page wedding album books.
Extra prints, DVDs, albums, etc can be ordered without price-gouging.
